Historical Fiction Discussion: The Woman They Could Not Silence
This month, our Historical Fiction Book Discussion will be The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore.
The Woman They Could Not Silence is a non-fiction book that tells the true story of Elizabeth Packard, a 19th-century woman who was unjustly committed to an insane asylum by her husband for having independent religious views, and her subsequent tireless fight for personal freedom and legal reforms for married women and the mentally ill.
