Every individual has the right to be respected, embraced, and provided with the opportunities to thrive, and that is exactly what Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is all about! This month-long observance brings attention to the varied and unique experiences of individuals with developmental disabilities, and helps to celebrate their achievements, advocate for their rights, and promote understanding and inclusivity within society.

The Wauseon Public Library is partnering with Blooms Flower Company, Fulton County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Sara's Garden, and Triangular Processing Services to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! Not only is the library participating in the month-long event, but we also entered a window painting contest to bring awareness, courtesy of local artist, Silas Sanchez! In addition, our early literacy program Leap Into Learning will be spotlighting developmental disabilities all month long.
